Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that requires emptying only periodically.
You can also find models that can mop and charge on their own, a feature that may be important for people with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have excellent ability to overcome obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or by voice.
In our testing, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
best rated robot vacuum were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.
3. automatic vacuum cleaner
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that can provide power without fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It could pick up most types of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area many times for an extensive clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects because it has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of automation features.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well with higher-up objects like cords or socks, which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tried, which might be a deal-breaker for some buyers.
